Principal

Eddie has more than 25-years of experience in the commodities and related sectors. Prior to the founding of EAS, Eddie was the Managing Director of Jefferies & Co. in New York from 1999 until 2008, responsible for international equity sales and trading.

Prior to Jefferies, Eddie worked as Managing Director for Marc Rich & Co. in Sydney, Australia and as a personal and private advisor to Solomon Lew and his associated companies out of Melbourne, Australia.

Following the completion of his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Wollongong, Eddie began his career in New York as Vice President on the Asian equities sales and trading desk at Barclays de Zoete Wedd (formerly the investment banking arm of Barclays Bank). Eddie holds Series 7, 24, 63, and 79 licenses.


Matthew Bonner

Chief Operating Officer

Matthew was previously General Counsel at Balan Trove Partners, a New York based hedge fund focused on energy, mining and infrastructure. Prior to his move to New York he worked for nine years as a lawyer for Baker & McKenzie’s and Bowman Gilfillan's London and Johannesburg offices where he advised on domestic and cross border public and private M&A, joint ventures, capital market transactions and project development. His work spanned six continents and was focused on emerging markets in the energy, mining and infrastructure sectors.

Matthew graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa with a B.A. in English and History and a LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws). Matthew is admitted as member of the New York Bar, a solicitor in England and Wales (non-practicing), and an attorney and notary in South Africa (non-practicing). Matthew holds Series 7 and 63 licenses.


Eric Dyer

Head of Energy

Eric Dyer has served EAS Advisors for 10 years and leads the firm’s efforts in energy, sustainability, and infrastructure. Prior to EAS, Eric was the Vice President of the U.S. Energy and Clean-Tech Investment Banking Group at Espirito Santo Investment Bank. Prior to that, he worked as an Associate for Atlantic-Pacific Capital, the largest independent placement agent dedicated to raising capital for private equity, hedge funds and direct private placements.

Additionally, Eric worked served in Institutional Sales for the energy research firm John S. Herold, the predecessor to I.H.S. Herold, Inc. and Cambridge Energy Research Associates. He previously worked in Fixed Income Capital Markets with the Royal Bank of Canada.

Eric holds a B.S. Finance and Economics from the University of Minnesota and holds Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses.


Rogier has 10 years of experience working in the mining and metals sector. He joined EAS Advisors in 2019 as Head of Mining. Rogier also has 6 years of experience in raising equity in the capital markets.

Rogier specializes in providing strategic advice in relation to M&A, acquisition / divestitures, joint ventures and equity and debt finance for companies and projects throughout the world.

In a similar role he previously worked for BNP Paribas and the Royal Bank of Scotland in New York and London. Prior to these roles, Rogier worked for ABN AMRO Rothschild in Equity Capital Markets in Amsterdam where he raised equity for companies throughout Northern Europe.

Rogier has a Masters Degree in Economics of the University of Amsterdam and holds Series 79 and 63 licenses and is FSA registered.

Cristobal lozano

Senior Associate

Cristobal has over 7 years of experience in investment banking with relevant experience in leverage finance and M&A transactions, primarily in the natural resources, tech, telecom, industrials and consumer industries in the US, Latin America and Europe.

Prior to his current role at EAS Advisors, Cristobal spent two years in the Global Investment Banking Metals and Mining team at Deutsche Bank Securities in New York, where he covered several clients in the aluminum, steelmaking, coal, and base metal mining industries primarily in the US, Canada, and Latin America.

Prior to his role in Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., Cristobal spent the first five years of his career in the leverage finance credit team at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. in the Latin America coverage team.

Cristobal graduated with honors from Monterrey Institute of Technology in Guadalajara, Mexico. He holds Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses.


Chris Hutchinson

Associate

Prior to his role at EAS Advisors, Chris worked for Exvere LLC., a Mergers and Acquisitions Advisory firm in Seattle Washington, where he worked as a generalist, providing transaction support to middle market companies in the Pacific Northwest.

Previously, Chris earned his MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain, where he focused his studies on finance and economics.

Prior to earning his MBA, Chris spent over 3 years working as an engineer in the mining and geotechnical engineering sectors. He worked in the Kiewit Mining Group, within the Kiewit Corporation, at the Corporate Headquarters in Omaha, NE, where he provided project and business development support.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle. Chris holds Series 7 and 63 licenses.


Shaun has a broad range of investment banking experience including M&A, equity capital markets, project finance and general corporate advisory roles. Working across a variety of transactions, he has gained a deep understanding of the natural resources sector as well as exposure to mining services and related infrastructure. Having previously worked in both advisory and in-house positions, Shaun is highly skilled in financial analysis and has developed a sound commercial acumen, enabling him to identify key value drivers.

Prior to joining EAS Advisors, he was a member of the South32 M&A team. He started his career at PCF Capital, a boutique investment banking group servicing the natural resources sector.

Shaun holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia, is a qualified Chartered Accountant and is completing a Masters in Applied Finance. He also holds Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Shaun Marnewick

Tao first started his career in finance working for HSBC’s regulatory department in New York. He also assisted various economic research projects for the Economics Department at Columbia University before graduating with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science. Tao holds SIE, Series 7, and 63 licenses.

Ryan worked for EAS Advisors for 8 years before joining Vitrinite Coal full-time, a high-grade coking coal project he co-founded in 2013.

Ryan specializes in developing commercial development strategies, resource acquisitions/divestures, joint ventures and project debt finance for projects and companies throughout the world.

He previously worked for Standard Bank, Hancock Prospecting, Mineral Resources Limited and Rio Tinto, as well as a broad range of mining finance groups, mining companies and other mining industry service companies as a consultant and director. His direct project experience has been with some of the world’s largest developments including Roy Hill and Alpha/Kevin’s Corner in Australia.

Ryan has a B.A. (Honors) in International Finance and Accounting from Regent’s Business School in London and holds Series 7 and 63 licenses.
